[It all started on the 1st January 1972]
When Axel Maarschalk and Hurst Performance* agreed to a partnership introducing the hydraulic rescue tool concept into the market. Under the name of Zumro, Axel takes the lead in all markets except North America. This partnership led to several rescue tool innovations, such as the introduction of the spreader, the dedicated cutter, and the ram. All of these changing the way rescuers perform rescue operations today.
In 1990 Hurst Performance* and Zumro decided to dissolve their partnership. From then onwards Zumro changed its strategy to become the most innovative rescue solution provider it has become today; RESQTEC. In 2005 Jan-Pieter Maarschalk enters the family business and is appointed CEO in 2011. With the focus on continuing to develop innovative rescue tool and solutions, to educate but more importantly to learn from the users, we continue to be a leading manufacturer for the rescue and recovery industry.
In the past 50 years, we focused on innovation and education, which have the power to convert rescue into safe and fast operations. Our goal for the next 50 years will remain the same: to help the rescue sector work under optimal conditions, to be capable, fast, and in control, so that the rescuers are safe and can continue to save more lives with our innovative rescue tool.
