IT ALL STARTED ON 1 JANUARY 1972

When Axel Maarschalk and Hurst Performance partnered to introduce the hydraulic rescue tool concept to the world. Under the name Zumro, Axel took the lead in the global market and Hurst Performance in North America. This partnership lead to multiple innovations in the extrication market such as the spreader, dedicated cutter and ram. All of which are still the basis of all extrication equipment sold globally today.

In 1990 Zumro and Hurst Performance took the decision to dissolve their partnership. Axel changed the Zumro strategy to become the most innovative rescue solutions provider that Resqtec is known for today. In 2005 Zumro officially became known as Resqtec Zumro emphasising our dedication to rescue. 2005 was also the year that Jan-Pieter Maarschalk entered the family business and was appointed CEO in 2011. Our focus remains on developing innovative rescue tools and solutions by listening to rescuers and understanding their requirements. With this we continue to be a leading manufacturer in the rescue and recovery industry.

Over the past 50 years our focus has been on innovation and education which has had the power to make rescue safer and quicker than ever before. Our goal over the next 50 years remains the same but with more focus on optimising systems and solutions to further improve on capabilities, control and safety, ensuring rescuers have the ability to do more than previously thought possible.

Introduction of ProFix Max all in one shoring system with automatic locking and remote control

Introduction of Electronic Direct Drive non hydraulic rescue battery equipment

Introduction of lighter and more powerful hydraulic line tools

2022

Introduction of Resqtec Aircraft Recovery diploma
